About Me

Artistic Journey Overview
Guillaume Dillée is a figurative painter whose universe, both dreamlike and accessible, explores the constant tension between Man and Nature.
Since discovering contemporary art in 1986, it has profoundly shaped his path, becoming a central part of his daily life. After studying Art History in Paris, he has developed, since 2004, a self-taught practice driven by an ongoing exploration of material, texture, and contrast.
Based in Melbourne, his work is deeply influenced by the visual power and biological richness of Australia — its light, colours, and biodiversity, as well as the fragility of ecosystems in the face of climate change. His paintings question the place of humanity within an environment that is both threatened and resilient, where exploitation and regeneration coexist.
Through a figurative approach with occasional surreal undertones, he explores the ambiguity of the living world — between beauty and danger — depicting an organic, sometimes toxic, yet always fascinating nature.
His process is intuitive: without preliminary sketches, he mentally constructs each composition before bringing it to life through layered techniques (oil, acrylic, ink, enamel…). Each gesture, often spontaneous and irreversible, contributes to the expressive strength of his work.
His work appeals to collectors who are sensitive to colour, material, and a poetic, contemporary vision of the relationship between humanity and the natural world.
